ShotSpotter provides surveillance technology for sound detection of gunshots and is working with Current by GE to include the sensors in smart streetlights around the world.
I personally think this is amazing. The Internet of Things has made lives easier, faster and more convenient. Now, it will possibly even save lives. ShotSpotter is meant to work in real-time which will allow authorities to respond to gun shot incidents almost as soon as a trigger is pulled.
