Global workers communicate and collaborate with instant messaging, blogs, wikis, and Facebook-like social networks. Businesses communicate with the public via social channels such as CEO blogs, viral marketing, Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare. Social media is mined by marketing for the latest consumption trends. Marketing campaigns are being driven by social media. New business roles are being created (e.g., community manager). Students will acquire the key concepts of social media and apply them to standard business situations.
