Description
The Poisson distribution has the following characteristics:
It describes the number of times some event occurs during a specified interval.
The probability of a "success" is proportional to the length of the interval.
Nonoverlapping intervals are independent
It is a limiting form of the binomial distribution when n is large and Pi is small.
